Personality Transplant?!

Personality Transplant was a term used by one of my clients to basically describe what could be called an identity crisis. But it’s more than just an existential crisis. It actually manifests in the real world as changes in our thought patterns, behaviour, desires or dislikes.

Many women will have spent a large portion of their life in supporting or caregiving roles. We were defined by others needs, by how nice and helpful we were, by our fertility and by how young and beautiful we looked.

Historically, representations of older women tend to be focused on meek grandmotherly roles, bitter and frustrated divorcees, mourning widows, nagging ‘hags’, or worst of all crazy wild witches who were so outside of societal norms that they risked being burnt at the stake….

As we transition through menopause we may look different, we may be less devoted to the service of others at our own expense. We feel different but we may not have grown into the person we are becoming. And that can be scary.

No 1. Magnificent Menopause tip for personality transplant
